Everything Bluetooth stopped working, as soon as I installed it. I would like to give even less than 1 star, if possible.

If you are having trouble installing CSR 4.0 Bluetooth dongle on windows 10 (i.e. windows does not recognise it as a USB dongle):

In Services, ensure bluetooth service is enabled, and start it. (this ensures that windows as the generic bluetooth driver available)

Go to device manager. Uninstall the CSR Radio device and delete the driver.

in Device Manager, check your Universal Serial Bus Controllers, and if the CSR device is also listed there, delete it.

In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes. The device should get picked up immediately by windows and installed with the generic bluetooth driver. It will appear under Bluetooth in Device Manager. You should also now (finally) get a bluetooth icon in the task bar (bottom right), as well as a Bluetooth entry in the notifications panel.

I had been fighting for this for ages and could not find a solution anywhere. The key was deleting the entries in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers as well, as well as the CSR driver, or any other driver.

The generic bluetooth driver is all that is needed.
